THÜROS Mini Smoking and BBQ Box

The THÜROS mini smoking box is the perfect accessory to flavour meat or fish. It can be used on any barbecue, may it be electric, run by gas or charcoal.

Before usage, the enclosed alder plank has to be soaked for at least three hours in water. Place the plank on one side on the lighted up barbecue to dry it shortly before placing it in the box. When placing it in the box, turn the plank around so that the shortly dried side is up. Then, set the meat or fish on the alder plank and close the box with its lid.
Due to the closed box, no BBQ or Swivelling Hood is needed and the goods can be cooked and flavoured inside the box.  

The mini smoking box can also be filled with wood chips instead of the plank to use it as a smoke generator for smoking in a barbecue. Then, a BBQ Hood or Swivelling Hood is needed to ensure a closed system.

  • Only use lighting aids that comply with DIN EN 1860-3!
  • Choose a fi rm horizontal installlation location. Put the charcoal (DIN 1860-2) only in the charcoal tray provided.
  • To light the charcoal use only TÜV-GS/DIN EN 1860-3 tested fire lighters. When using lighter fluid make sure it does not flow into the flue or out of the vents. Never add lighter fluid to a burning fire.
  • Before first use, preheat the BBQ for a few minutes without food and cooking grate so that any production residues can dissipate.
  • Do not use the ventilation slide without gloves.
  • Do not start grilling before the charcoal turned gray and reached the correct cooking temperature.

Tipp: Use less charcoal than with any conventional charcoal BBQs without a fl ue draught system. THÜROS® BBQs are truly economical BBQs and need considerably less fuel. Therefore, we recommend to use a high-quality charcoal.
